Two-Tier White Chocolate & Caramel Mud Cake with Dahlias by Alyssa’s Kitchen

A stunning combination of flavour and artistry, this two-tier creation from Alyssa’s Kitchen was crafted for Tori & Jon’s wedding. Featuring a 6-inch white chocolate mud cake and an 8-inch caramel mud cake, both single height, it offered the perfect balance of sweet creaminess and rich caramel indulgence.

Finished in smooth OTT buttercream with a soft semi-naked style, the design embraced understated elegance, allowing the florals to shine. Adorned with a breathtaking arrangement of dahlias in fiery shades of red, orange, gold, and blush, paired with crisp white blooms and a delicate touch of gold leaf, the cake was as vibrant as it was elegant.

These incredible flowers were especially meaningful—they were lovingly grown by the bride’s mother in Burrawang, making the arrangement not only beautiful but deeply personal. Their bold colours and natural form created a striking cascade of blooms, transforming the cake into a true statement piece.

This cake perfectly captured the joy and elegance of the occasion, blending delicious flavour with heartfelt details. From the handmade finish to the homegrown flowers, it reflected Alyssa’s Kitchen’s philosophy: cakes should be as unique and memorable as the celebrations they are part of.

After 25 years in corporate and a significant life experience, I decided I’d follow my passion – making beautiful cakes and desserts and I'm loving it!

I’ve always loved entertaining and making things that not only taste delicious but also look beautiful. Being always the one asked to ‘bring dessert’ – I started experimenting and developed a passion for baking. I delight in seeing and hearing people are happy, enjoying eating all the things I created. The best compliment is being referred to as a ‘cake magician’! Whilst I had been cooking for many years inspired by my grandmother, I developed my Patisserie skills further by completing a certification with Le Cordon Bleu Cooking School, so I could deliver the best for my customers.
