Fringed Fondant Chocolate & Lemon Cake by Alyssa’s Kitchen

Unique and refined, this two-tier cake from Alyssa’s Kitchen was crafted to celebrate Danielle & Cormac’s wedding. Featuring an 8-inch chocolate cake and a 10-inch lemon cake, both single height, it offered the perfect pairing of rich indulgence and fresh citrus flavour.

Covered in smooth fondant, the design showcased a delicate fringed effect around the edges. I extended the fringe slightly taller to give the cake more presence, creating a soft, elegant silhouette that stood beautifully as a centrepiece.

Adorned with a graceful arrangement of fresh blooms in muted blush, soft peach, golden yellow, and hints of greenery, the flowers were chosen to perfectly match the venue styling and the bride’s bouquet. This thoughtful placement brought cohesion to the wedding décor, making the cake feel like a natural part of the celebration.

The balance of flavour, clean design, and floral accents made this cake both delicious and distinctive—an elegant reflection of Alyssa’s Kitchen’s approach to crafting bespoke cakes that combine artistry, personal details, and unforgettable taste.

ABOUT ALYSSA’S KITCHEN

After 25 years in corporate and a significant life experience, I decided I’d follow my passion – making beautiful cakes and desserts and I'm loving it!

I’ve always loved entertaining and making things that not only taste delicious but also look beautiful. Being always the one asked to ‘bring dessert’ – I started experimenting and developed a passion for baking. I delight in seeing and hearing people are happy, enjoying eating all the things I created. The best compliment is being referred to as a ‘cake magician’! Whilst I had been cooking for many years inspired by my grandmother, I developed my Patisserie skills further by completing a certification with Le Cordon Bleu Cooking School, so I could deliver the best for my customers.
