A celebration as unique as Jenni & Dave’s love deserved not one, but three beautiful cakes from Alyssa’s Kitchen. Each cake was designed with thoughtful flavours and personal touches, creating a trio that was as meaningful as it was delicious.
The first cake was an 8-inch gluten-free vanilla, finished in natural buttercream with a smooth semi-naked look and delicate piping around the base, crowned with soft seasonal blooms. The second, an 8-inch orange & poppyseed cake infused with orange syrup and layered with buttercream, carried the same elegant finish and fresh floral decoration. The final centrepiece, a tall three-layer Black Forest cake coated in chocolate ganache and buttercream, paid homage to Dave’s favourite flavour. This time, it was made extra special with more cherries and a taller profile for their wedding day.
Each cake was adorned with flowers lovingly gathered from David’s own garden alongside their florist’s selection, ensuring the cakes blended seamlessly with the couple’s vision. The celebration was held at the charming Exeter Hall, where family and friends all contributed to make the day unforgettable.
This trio of cakes truly embodied the spirit of Jenni & Dave’s wedding — personal, heartfelt, and filled with love. A perfect reflection of Alyssa’s Kitchen’s philosophy: crafting cakes that bring joy, connection, and meaning to life’s most cherished moments.
After 25 years in corporate and a significant life experience, I decided I’d follow my passion – making beautiful cakes and desserts and I'm loving it!
I’ve always loved entertaining and making things that not only taste delicious but also look beautiful. Being always the one asked to ‘bring dessert’ – I started experimenting and developed a passion for baking. I delight in seeing and hearing people are happy, enjoying eating all the things I created. The best compliment is being referred to as a ‘cake magician’! Whilst I had been cooking for many years inspired by my grandmother, I developed my Patisserie skills further by completing a certification with Le Cordon Bleu Cooking School, so I could deliver the best for my customers.
