Red Velvet Petal-Infused Cake By Alyssa’s Kitchen

Crafted as a vibrant celebration of colour and flavour, this two-tier cake featured 8-inch and 10-inch red velvet tiers at 1¼ height, finished in silky white buttercream. Edible dried rose and calendula petals were gently embedded through the buttercream, creating a beautiful, natural confetti effect that made the cake feel both artistic and organic.

To complete the design, the bride chose a selection of bold, bright fresh blooms—expertly supplied by Under the Willow Floral Design. Their vivid tones contrasted perfectly with the soft, speckled buttercream, bringing the whole vision to life.

This bride had a very clear aesthetic in mind, blending edible botanicals with statement florals, and I was thrilled to hear that we absolutely hit the brief. I even received plenty of lovely comments on how soft and delicious the red velvet was!

At Alyssa’s Kitchen, every cake is a collaboration of flavour, beauty, and intention—crafted to reflect each couple’s unique style.

ABOUT ALYSSA’S KITCHEN

After 25 years in corporate and a significant life experience, I decided I’d follow my passion – making beautiful cakes and desserts and I'm loving it!

I’ve always loved entertaining and making things that not only taste delicious but also look beautiful. Being always the one asked to ‘bring dessert’ – I started experimenting and developed a passion for baking. I delight in seeing and hearing people are happy, enjoying eating all the things I created. The best compliment is being referred to as a ‘cake magician’! Whilst I had been cooking for many years inspired by my grandmother, I developed my Patisserie skills further by completing a certification with Le Cordon Bleu Cooking School, so I could deliver the best for my customers.
